I drive down the road next to Lake Michigan
After waking up in your bed.
I am running late, but I feel at peace.
When the alarm rang, you hit snooze
over and over again
and I decided to lay on your chest until quarter after.
Time was against us.
Getting up our held hands lingered.
In your bathroom I washed my face.
As I put on makeup
you leaned your head against my bare back.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too."
You didn't open your eyes.
The muscles in your body were still relaxed.
Back in bed I kissed you a million times more.
Its quarter to nine.
"Have a wonderful day."
"You too beautiful."
